Humprhey Bogart is famous because he made a lot of fabulous films in the history of cinema.
He was born in New York in 1889, his father was a surgeon and his mother an art photographer. When Humphrey was a child his mother sent a picture of Bogart to Mellins Baby food and he appeared in the advertising of the brand. His family wanted the son to be a doctor but those weren't Bogart's wishes. His school marks were bad and in 1918 he entered in the USA Navy to fight in the First World War.
At the end of the war he started working in the Worl Film Corporation as an administrative, after thar he began doing films. The years 1941 and 1942 were good for him; he filmed "The Maltese Falcon" and "Casablanca", two of his most famous films. With "Casablanca" Humphrey was nominated for the best actor but he didn't win the Oscar. He get that award with "The African Queen" in 1951.
Bogart had been married four times. His last wife was Laurent Bacall, she was 20 years younger than Bogart. They met in the film "To have and have not" and one year later they were married.
Humphrey Bogart died in 1957 in Los Angeles, he had cancer as a consequence of drink and smoke, he was still married with Lauren Bacall who stayed beside him during all his disease.
