Amaia was born on August 26, 1976 in Irun, a city in Spain.His family is composed by her father Jose, her mum Pilar and her sister Idaza.She had an equal infancy to that of every girl, happy and calm.
Already from small was saying to her who she should to listen that of big.She would be a singer .She was in the habit of playing all the time with a small tape recorder .She study chemical sciences.
In 1998 presented her first album "Say him to the Sun" In 2000 they edited"Copperpot´s trip".
In November,2002,Amaia took the decision to leave the group after eleven years,to devote herself to her career as solist.
Her first album as solist is "Amaia Montero"and it has been the only one.
